The differences between Utricularia sandersonii and Utricularia sandersonii ‘Blue’ remind me of a lady standing formally and then curtsying, pulling her skirts out to the side.
This is actually one of the smaller Pinguicula flowers; it may not be as big as the other ones but it certainly makes up for that with its softly blushing violet coloration, fantastic venation and that dollop of butter yellow right at its throat!
Cephalotus have a unique feature; on the interior of the trap is a bright, white, slippery collar baited with nectar. Insects hanging on the downward curving teeth attempting to get a taste of the nectar will slip and fall. Once inside, they cannot bypass the funnel shaped collar to get back out.
Drosera paleacea always produces masses of flowers along their stems and my favorite part is the ombre effect of the color of the buds before they are open!
