On April 23, 2020, co-sponsored by the China Dairy Industry Association and the Chinese National Committee of the International Dairy Federation (CNCIDF), and co-organized by China Economic Net and Dairy Times, “Enhancing Physical Fitness and Milk-Leading the Nutrition of Fermented Dairy Products” “Research and Market Consumption Seminar” is held in the form of an online conference.

Zhang Zhiqiang, deputy director of the Food Safety Standards and Monitoring and Evaluation Department of the National Health Commission, made a report on “Building a Healthy China, the Mission and Responsibilities of the Food Industry”, and Song Kungang, Chairman of the China Dairy Industry Association and Honorary Chairman of CNCIDF. The keynote speech of “Nutrition and Function”, from Yili, Mengniu, Guangming, Junlebao and other companies in charge of science and technology research and development, biotechnology research and application institutions, and dairy market professional consulting institutions made wonderful reports. They reported on the nutritional value of fermented milk products from different angles, the current research and innovation directions of fermented milk varieties at home and abroad, the role of high-quality strains in enhancing the nutrition of fermented milk, and the status and prospects of the market and consumption of fermented milk products.

It is hoped that the majority of dairy companies will take active actions to continuously improve the nutritional quality of dairy products and continuously meet the health needs of consumers. It is also hoped that consumers will stick to a balanced diet, diversify their foods, and consume dairy products daily.

Song Kungang, President of the China Dairy Industry Association and Honorary Chairman of CNCIDF: Milk and dairy products are indispensable foods for a healthy body and a strong nation. The theme of the forum was “Cheese-a new driving force for the revitalization of the dairy industry”. Vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Yu Kangzhen attended the forum and delivered a keynote speech. The per capita consumption of cheese in China is only 0.1 kg, the cheese market has huge potential

Yu Kangzhen emphasized that it is necessary to thoroughly implement the “Opinions of the General Office of the State Council on Promoting the Revitalization of the Dairy Industry and Guaranteeing Milk Quality and Safety”, firmly grasp the key opportunity period for the development of cheese, and make efforts from the production side and the consumer side to accelerate the promotion of cheese .The development and improvement of the level will make new and greater contributions to the comprehensive revitalization of China’s dairy industry. He pointed out that a glass of milk strengthens a nation, and a piece of cheese flourishes an industry. While steadily developing liquid milk, we will cultivate cheese as a new consumption growth point for dairy products, allowing consumers to shift from “drinking milk” to “eating milk”, and better play the role of consumption in stimulating production.

Faced with the sudden outbreak of COVID-19, Mengniu Group responded quickly and took the lead in initiating donations in the industry on January 22. As of February 20, Mengniu donated money and materials to the frontline of anti-epidemic through the China Charity Federation totaling 548.1 million yuan.
