Also Salim use to turn into his beast form and sleep with Zain in the living room when he was scared as a little child and still do it later when Zain was scared hearing bombing or fight. Zain would pet his baba’s fur until falling asleep, reassured by big woof Salim.
Thought about a House of Ashes AU where iraqi army use wolf shifters it its ranks while USA trains vampires as marines. Vampires are trained and evolved to resist more to sun but they still have to cover their body and werewolves are either directly conscripted or the army chose the most loyal and obedient of their soldiers and turn them into shifters. Also they wear ample thawb easy to remove to turn quickly when needed.
So Salim has been turned into a werewolf by the army a few years after Zain was born, leading later to his wife leaving him because she couldn’t bear being the wife of a “dog”, meanwhile Jason simply comes from a poor family of vampires, the marines was the only light for him that lead him out of his hell hole. Both can shapeshift back and forth (well not if exposed to sun for Jason of course)
“You mean a lot to me.” Oooh Salim if you knew better. Dar is happy to have his Lieutenant in his sheet but… his duties as husband and soldier are more important to him can’t give it all to Salim.
“I know what you are. But I won’t say anything, I’ll protect you.” Salim found himself in an awkward position. Heart broken by his now ex wife and now his captain offering him compassion (and more?). Hurry up Jason!
With@yesitsloulou we established that the vampire marines huddle together when tired or one is sick and puff their fluff. So here’s Joey and Jason sleeping with a bunch of fellow marines.
Found this cute fic yesterday night named “Let’s get Physical” by endovelicus and Sparksy, and it made me want to try bearded Salim. Let’s say I don’t hate it :)
