Living in New Orleans, we didn’t start watching Treme expecting to see an abundance of whiskey. It exists here, it’s just not one of the top three orders from anecdotal research.
However,Treme is another David Simon joint. And if The Wire taught us anything, it’s that whiskey is a universal social lubricant, used by both copsandrobbers. After watching S1 of Treme, the good stuff was surprisingly well represented:
Ladonna with Southern Comfort…
Davis with Jameson…
And Creighton with Woodford Reserve.

‘The Wire’ at 20: ‘This Show Will Live Forever’
“We were fast becoming a culture that didn’t even recognize its own problems, much less solve any of them. So it felt like, ‘Let’s make a show about this,’” says The Wire creator David Simon in conversation with Ed Burns and the New York Times’ Jonathan Abrams on the show’s 20th anniversary.
You can hear the 2008 soundtrack to The Wire, featuring music and dialogue from the show and four versions of the opening-credit song, Tom Waits’s “Way Down in the Hole,” here.
Alexei Navalny was sentenced to a 1.2 million rubles fee and 9 years in high-security colony which means it would be difficult to access it and keep contact with him.
Freedom to Navalny ✊❤
Navalny’s reaction to the sentence:
‘9 years. Well, just like what characters from my favourite show “The Wire” said: “You only do two days. That’s the day you go in and the day you come out” I even had a t-shirt with that motto but prison authorities seized it, considering it as an extremist item’
