#omar little
Bills WR Stefon Diggs wore these cleats in honor of Michael K. Williams, the legendary actor who passed away last week. Williams was most widely known for his portrayal of Omar Little on the critically acclaimed HBO’s series, The Wire.
These cleats are tough!
Did a couple of Wire sketches… about to start season 2 so don’t spoil me please! Also, getting into a 20 years old show feels good. Uncontroversial. Relaxing. All the discourse already happened. No thoughts head empty just enjoying the thing
The Wire, S3 E11 “Middle Ground” (2002-2008)
We all loved him in The Wire, but my favorite role Michael K Williams played is a tie between his role as Leonard Pine, a queer veteran in late 80s East Texas, on Hap and Leonard, and as Chalky White from Boardwalk.
One highly underrated show I can’t recommend enough is a series called Hap and Leonard. It’s like True Detective, but with more levity, and the two leads are an interracial codependent pair of best friends in late 80s East Texas, trying to get out of shenanigans and shitty things they happen upon, while also trying to do the right thing. If I haven’t sold you yet, one of the leads is Michael K Williams and is queer. It’s also not some liberal white savior show, and the racism is not on the nose, it’s just very very realistic, and we know reality is cringeworthy, fist clenching and scary enough.
