every morning, whenever dean wakes up, he leans over and presses the softest kiss to cas’ forehead and he softly murmurs “my angel, i still can’t believe you’re here with me. I love you” and cas pretends to still be asleep but he’s awake and every single time he hears those words it makes him fall just a little bit more in love with dean
it starts out as an innocent kiss good night, just a quick peck on the lips, but then one night, after they share a brief kiss on the lips, cas leans in and kisses dean’s cheek. “I win,” cas says with a smile, before he’s ducking his head against dean’s shoulder with a happy laugh just so that dean can’t reach his face. and then the next night, after they kiss good night, dean sneaks a fast kiss to the tip of cas’ nose. “beat ya,” dean grins, before he turns around and leans his back against cas’ chest. “oh, it’s on,” cas murmurs into dean’s ear. the next night, cas springs a sneak attack round of kisses to dean’s jawline. the following night, dean kisses his way along cas’ closed eyelids and across his eyebrows. cas wins the next round the next night when he kisses the wrinkles by dean’s eyes. their innocent kiss good night suddenly becomes an all out kissing war, with declarations of who has who beat and who was winning the kissing game. it’s ridiculous and so so good and dean can’t wait until he can curl up next to cas every night in bed just to chase his angel with kisses and cas admits it’s his favorite part of the day and dean murmurs that these are his favorite types of kisses and they’re just so in love
even though they’re married, with their hands intertwined and their wedding rings glinting in the sunshine, dean still calls cas his best friend. “you do know I’m your husband, right?” cas lightly teases one day, and dean laughs, grabbing cas’ hand and kissing the ring on cas’ finger before replying “I do, but you’re also my best friend, my favorite person, my present and my future, my everything and my forever,” and cas gets this teary look in his eyes as he leans in to kiss dean and murmurs “that’s incredibly sappy, dean,” and dean whispers back “I don’t care” as he kisses cas again
