#mayvinylchallenge by @jennn_erator Day 19: Highlight a Decade. I’m going with the 80s, but specifically the punk & post-hardcore scenes. I think of the 80s as a decade of very staid, safe mainstream music, with so much interesting stuff bubbling in underground scenes (not just punk but hip hop too) that would wait until the 90s to blow up. I’ve got a fairly random sampling of my favorite albums of the era. If you haven’t read Michael Azerrad’s Our Band Could Be Your Life, I highly recommend it!
