Quando non avevamo paura di osare in grande nel cinema italiano. Bellissimo!

March 25th is the day believed to be the start of Dante’s journey through the celestial realms of hell, purgatory, and heaven. Here are some pictures of my Divina Commedia with illustrations by Gustave Doré. Happy Dante’s day everyone!

When I was 16, my friends and I made self-insert, coffee shop AU of Dante’s Inferno. You know, as one does in their senior year of catholic high school.

Each of my friends played a character (I was Geryon, just because). We wrote ficlets and fancomics in this one notebook that we passed around during class. 100% renaissance literature crack. Still one of my fave collabs to date.

Amor, ch’al cor gentil ratto s’apprende

prese costui de la bella persona

che mi fu tolta; e ’l modo ancor m’offende.

Amor, ch’a nullo amato amar perdona,

mi prese del costui piacer sì forte,

che, come vedi, ancor non m’abbandona.

Amor condusse noi ad una morte:

Caina attende chi a vita ci spense».

Queste parole da lor ci fuor porte.
