Warning: Mini rant Incoming!

So, I have been on ThisVid for a little over a year now. It’s my go-to porn website because of the wealth of scat porn available. Now, I am a person who doesn’t really care who is producing the content: if you’re straight, gay, lesbian, transgendered, intersex, black, white, Asian, Latino, furry – really couldn’t give a fuck. For me, I go on ThisVid to indulge in my fetish. If I think your video is hot, I’m going to watch it and I’ll probably get off to it.

Not everyone is like me, and that’s okay. Everyone has their preferences or lack of preferences. That’s just human. The problem is when some people get so petty over the content not meeting their personal aesthetic, then demanding that the uploader recategorize the video, even if that recategorization doesn’t reflect their orientation or gender preference. Rather than closing the window and moving on like most of us do, they get vocal about it. 

I love the ThisVid comment section. I love reading people’s thoughts about the video. A lot of the times, what people have to say enhances the video because they get so imaginative with the content, daring you to imagine other scenarios. It’s kinda like Tumblr’s comment’s…except there’s a lot more of this: 

“Male scat sucks!” “I’m reporting this. This belongs to the gay section!” “The scat section is for females only! Get this gay shit off here!” “So sad that the female wasn’t shitting on the male. Male scat sucks!” 

This is just a sample and reimagining of some of the comments I have been seeing on videos that have been uploaded by straight men who enjoy scat. They categorize their videos under the “Scat” section in the “Straight” tab on this vid. According to the symbol on the tab and the way the website was structured a while ago, I understood that ALL straight people – male and female (trans persons included) – have the right to upload their scat into this generalized “Straight” section. 

That was until some immature men decided that the “Scat” section was for females only, and they would report, down-rate and snarl at anyone who:

1. Is a straight man just minding his business and uploading content onto the section that represents his gender and orientation (as would be expected)
   
2. Is a straight couple in which the male loves to shit on the female, the female enjoys being shit on, and they enjoy that dynamic.
   

 I don’t think these men realize their own irony. Suddenly, you have these straight men (Let’s call them Team A) turning on other straight men (Team B) each other just because Team A believes that Team B has no place on a particular section of the site. Why? Because the Team A doesn’t want any members of Team B to ruin their porn browsing aesthetic. Long story short, rather than using the back arrow like most of us do when we see something that isn’t pleasing, Team A prefers to take their precious time to leave a nasty comment, report the video, leave a low rating and THEN move along. All the while, they don’t even notice the pitiful piousness of their own irony. 

Suddenly, you have two teams of straight men and one of those teams – the most outspoken one – decides that it’s going to treat their fellow straight men in the way that a lot of straight men have treated the LGBTQIA community or anyone who doesn’t meet their aesthetic ideology. 

They decide that they’re going to play their hand and force them into an unnecessary box just because they feel uncomfortable. But, that discomfort would be easily overridden if they would just click a back button and move on. As for their victims, they are forced under a banner that doesn’t even represent them, just because a few other men prefer them to be invisible and not exist in the spaces they occupy. 

How is that fair?

I noticed that ThisVid recently added a “Male Scat” section to the Straight tab so that Team B men can FINALLY have a place to upload their content without being unnecessarily reported for uploading their content into the right section. I’m happy about this, but the unnecessary drama that some of their contemporaries have caused on the site still lingers. 

It’s also funny that in a year of browsing, I have NEVER seen any straight woman snarl in the comments of any lesbian porn clip demanding that Lesbian women are in the wrong section and that they should go over to the gay scat section. So why is it that these straight men are so problematic and petty about the content they consume? ThisVid dudes, you guys gotta do better. 

I do not have the answers to these problems, but I am happy that the content-creating straight men can finally have a space of their own to upload their content. I’m happy that people like me - who don’t give a fuck whether the uploader has a dick or not, or if the guy is the shittee or shitter -  can finally enjoy both the videos and content section in peace. Hopefully the mantra of “Male Scat Sucks!” is finally over. 

Maybe ThisVid will finally be a better place.
