Here marks the end of the linear comic for Prophetic Hijinks. There is so much I want to tackle, I have 60 comic ideas in drafts. And I want to get to the sobrinos. I will likely continue the story in fanfic form, occasionally illustrating, or picking out scenes and amplifying the humor.
I will also welcome prompts for comics. So send in those asks.
But in the end. I want to keep this fun and carefree. So I will jump around as the inspiration hits. Draw the funniest comic next, instead of being linear in chronological time. So you may see the a first date comic, and then next time pregnant Elena comic. It’s a free for all. I promise to keep it funny and adorable, and on occasion a little cheeky.
I compiled a short list of some questions that I hadn’t seen yet to help you (and me) have some fun while developing OCs. Feel free to answer these yourself, or ask someone else!
1. How does your OC feel about their full name?
2. What do strangers notice about them first?
3. How does their social personality differ from how they act when they’re alone?
4. How do they act around a crush?
5. Do they have a “tell” for when they’re lying?
6. What do they smell like?
7. What is their hair texture like?
8. How much jewelry do they wear, and do they have a favorite or distinguishing piece?
9. Do they have a word or phrase that they tend to overuse?
10. What is a weird quality that they have (ie their hands are always cold, they’re always hungry, they snort when they laugh, etc)?
11. What color do they look strikingly good in?
12. How do they show affection to someone they love?
13. Do they make strong/frequent eye contact when they talk to someone?
14. What attributes do they have that are inherited from their parents or shared with their siblings/other relatives?
15. Are their greatest flaw and their greatest strength related and in what way? (ie very caring and helpful but a doormat, or very observant and shrewd but often paranoid)
16. How has their childhood affected the way they view an aspect of their life (people, education, society, themselves, etc)?

1: Elena Rosa Ruiz, she is named after her grandmother and aunt on her father’s side, so she treasures it. Though she doesn’t have biological family in her life, family is very important to her.
2. Elena is very open and friendly, so probably her smile.
3. Elena on stage is poised, graceful, woman of fantasy. But she is really a playful, goofball at heart. Truly alone though, she is morose. She doesn’t like being alone and she is bad at it. But she is not good with the men she chooses either…
4. Depends. Elena plays a part and adjusts behavior based on what makes them comfortable, or more likely to like her. Depending on whose needs she is focusing on. She uses her charm for manipulation a little bit, sometimes not even realizing it. It’s basically a survival instinct at this point.
5. Elena is pretty honest, but if she laughs at your joke without her smile being lopsided she is faking her laugh.
6. A floral perfume her mom used to wear, cigarette smoke after working at the lounge all night. She hates it and has to bathe before sleeping, no matter how tired she is.
7. Semi wavy and thick. It can be unruly in the morning.
8. They own a lot of costume jewelry for the stage. But the only jewelry of value is a silver crucifix and a string of pearls. Jewelry often had to be sold in her 20’s so she doesn’t put my emphasis on it.
9. Not really, but she dispenses nicknames a lot
10. She snyrks when she laughs. If you can get her to drop her guard enough to really snyrk and not fake laugh, she likes you.
11. Dark green and white.
12. Very expressive. If she loves you, the world knows. Lots of kisses, lots of hugs. She writes songs, cuddles and calls you sweet nicknames.
13. Elena is very confident socially she will look you straight in the eye.
14. Elena sense of humor and resilience is from her mother, also her ability to shunt hard emotions under the rug. While her kind and gentle nature with musical abilities is from her father.
15. Elena is very kind and gives a lot of herself to help others. This often gets her hurt. She errs on the side of assuming the best in people, and that kindness will bring about their better angels. It’s dangerous and stupid, and friends like Hugo are often annoyed by it. Despite, benefiting from this trait.
16. Elena being orphaned at 12, makes her see the world as her family, she builds connections wherever she goes. She also knows the power of kindness and compassion for the less fortunate.
don’t know why I was so in love with the “Matchmaker rats” idea, especially enough that this is the only full color comic. But I am, it’s the dumbest idea I have ever loved.
Edit: ok so I should just lean in to my more off the wall ideas because you all seem to like the matchmaker rats too. ❤️
