I really think that instead of making canon straight characters gay to appease audiences and angering die hard book fans by robbing them of the love stories they’re so attached too, bridgerton could just write gay characters. The amount of storylines the show contained in s1 that didn’t revolve around Simon and Daphne shows they have the room for it. Creating characters like Siena and Genevieve. By fleshing out Marina. They could so easily create other complex, interesting characters to continue their goal of representation and book fans wouldn’t have to lose the stories they’re so attached too. They could even keep or create characters like Siena and Genevieve and create a blossoming romance between them which now that I think about it…sounds really cool and could actually work organically.

Thinking bout Phillip and Eloise visiting Francesca and Michael in Scotland and Eloise begging Michael to convince Phillip that wearing a kilt is necessary for men when attending dinner. Phillip begrudgingly agreeing and arriving to dinner only for Oliver and Amanda to burst out laughing at the sight of their dad. While Michael and Francesca attempt to remain polite and hide their laughter and Eloise just…can’t help the snorts that leave her body as it dawns on her husband’s face that it was a setup.
