Working through more training and under the section for “Marital Status/Married Couples” this is the photo they used :
I can remember a time when you would have NEVER seen this is a training manual and just like it’s small, but it made me happy.
Also! On a different one, the example had a person who’s pronouns were they/them.
My mentor told me that by next week I’ll be getting my first assignments. Just 2-3 to start.
I’m hoping they’ll be there as I walk through the steps cuz I’ve been shown how to do it, but I learn best by actually doing it myself.
Plus, I’m still learning the material…sooo I hope they are ready for my constant check ins

I just realized why using words/phrases like wig/snatched/fam/lit/tea and countless other phrases has always rubbed me the wrong way and it’s bc it’s appropriation of aave
and like im guilty of using it too at times but I feel like it’s been getting so much more prevalent lately and it makes me uncomfy
it’s mostly on twitter I think, but I’m glad that the tumblr myday community is pretty good at refraining from using it?? I’ve been kind of inactive lately and haven’t really been seeing posts but for the most part I think we’re better than some other communities
but idk I think we can all stop and think and try to be mindful of the words we use. like heck even jae at times uses some aave and it’s bc it’s become so appropriated that it’s accepted and part of widespread slang now and that’s not a good thing
idk I’ve been thinking a lot and I get really worked up about stuff so like feel free to dismiss this mini rant but like be conscious of the words you use, loves, and where they originate from
if u wanna learn more about this let a girl know bc I’m sure it would help me educate myself too

I’ve been offline (and out of queue) more often recently, and I kinda hate it. But the reason is because I’m MOVING!!
I got a job offer I couldn’t refuse …mostly because part-time jobs don’t pay the medical bills, and late-stage capitalism is a bitch ♀️
But now I’m moving from West Virginia and my beloved Appalachian mountains to the coast. It just feels so wrong! Tune in next week for my identity crisis as an Appalachian witch, minus the Appalachia
