This very nearly messed up completely, but I managed to salvage it.

I’m still not the happiest with my color choices though.

There are many different magical creatures and races in the story I’ve been working on, some similar to one’s that are well-known, others are a bit different.

One that is a bit different are the goblins of my world. So here’s a bit of information about them.

There are more details I’m working on, so some things may change.

Goblins are intersex, having both male and female sex characteristics.

Standing between 3'6 and 4'6, and weighing in between 60-90 pounds. They are generally small, thin, and androgynous.

Their ears are big, and droopy, with powerful listening capabilities.

they have hands large for their size, thick wrists, and large, wide noses. They can be born with skin in a range of greens and blues, Most have wavy or curly hair in a similar shade as their skin color, and eyes in orange and brown hues. Their hair is normally kept bit past shoulder length.

Ear piercings are very common, most getting their first, a simple hoop, at the start of puberty, and the second, another small hoop, when they come of age. Goblins aren’t particularly magically gifted when compared to other races. A small number have been able to become magicians, but it was difficult.

The average life expectancy for a goblin is round 170-180 years, reaching adulthood at 40. They live fairly active lives, doing a reasonable amount of agricultural work most every day.

As they are intersex, they have no “gender roles” and all contribute equally to their household, and community.

Goblins live in villages of around 70 to 100 individuals, and their overall population is low.

Each community has a leader, who is elected after the death of the previous leader. they also have a council meeting once every season, four times a year. a member of each household will represent their family, they will discuss plans for the future, and issues affecting the community.

There are several communities scattered around forests in the northeast part of the continent.

the goblins keep to themselves most of the time, but aren’t apposed to venturing out into the world, and are cautious but welcoming to most who visit.

I’ve still got a bit of detail work to do, but Eimhaidh and Tiek have some fancy new elven court clothes.

I’ve taken a short break, but now I am back to work on the story, and accompanying art.

I’m hoping to start working on some of the side character soon!

The far left panel is my favorite.

I’ve got another big one in the works, but after that I’ll be focusing on writing, and test sketches.✍

up until now I’ve been using pretty average fantasy themes, but I think I’ve settled on a direction to take the designs and themes for this world.

I may be doing a live on my TikTok soon as well, so keep an eye out for any announcements!

Halfway through my biggest piece yet.

This one also includes two new characters.

I haven’t mentioned it yet, but when Eimhaidh left on his first diplomatic assignment, two guards are accompanying him, Sarrel, far left, and Ciliren far right.

Cilitren is a female elf, late middle-aged, around 600-700 years old). She is a senior member of the royal guard, and has worked around several members of the royal family. She was sent with Eimhaidh because she has enough political knowledge to help the prince on his first diplomatic mission, as well as a weath of life experience. This will be her last mission before retirement.

Sarrel is a young male part-elf guard. His grandmother was a human healer, who traveled from a faraway continent (similar to Africa) to learn healing from the elves. She married an elven soldier, and they both returned to her homeland, but her husband and their son, Sarrel’s father, returned to the elven city after she passed. Sarrel has just completed his training, and this will be his first assignment, and chance to leave the city and see the world.

Tiek and Eimhaidh are the main focus of this story, but I’m working on a rich supporting cast to help them through their adventures.

Eimhaidh is usually all buttoned up, but even an elven prince has to relax sometime.

This picture was bigger… but my dog chewed half of it

Mess with the goblin, you gonna get a clobberin’.

Goblins don’t have much use for weapons or fighting. The most common weapon for goblins to train with is a staff. It’s easily accessible, versatile, and quite often unexpected.

Great against a wild animal or the occasional raider.

Tiek is trying to serve the smolder.

I had so much fun with this piece. Labyrinth is my favorite movie, and the songs . Especially “as the world falls down”. It tells of the highs and lows of life and love, and meeting them together.

Sorry I haven’t been posting a lot, an unexpected wedding, summer fun, and a horrible (non-covid) cold have been keeping me on my toes. Hopefully I’ll get back on track, but we’ve got a few other things going on, so I can’t make any promises.
