My biggest #mixdgirlproblems has to be the fact that I am #raciallyambiguous, thus when I interact with new folks, I can see their gears turning in their minds desperately trying to figure out what ethnicity I am, almost as if they can’t possibly move on in the conversation until they have that answer. It’s bizarre, to feel like people drive their social interactions with me based on my race (makes sense though, people are problematic). The classic #mixdgirlproblem includes having no true circle to belong to, when each one you are apart of doesn’t see you as enough, I’m not White enough (thank goodness lol), not Arab enough, definitely not Black enough, and folks love to let me know it every chance they get. Little do they know, their opinions don’t mean shit to me, and I am authentically who I am regardless of what they think of me.I always identify as #mixed when folks ask me, and if they probe further about my percentage breakdown, I make them feel super uncomfortable for asking, cuz it ain’t y'alls business if I just met you! Why yall even want to know!? Y'all weird.”

HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO I take this chance to eat as many tacos as I can - today I made some spicy #featurefriday chickpea and sautéed #meatless grounds topped with corn/tomato/red cabbage and cilantro lime sauce. To be honest though I’ll have every excuse to eat #tacos #cincodemayo (at Vancouver, British Columbia)

You versus these pancakes she told you not to worry about…… happy #Friday my old and new pals!!! I’m celebrating the fact that I start work late today by making these DELICIOUSLY DENSE AF #vegan + easy banana oatmeal pancakes. Also I’ve been wearing my @danielwellington watch more and more even though I 500% think it’ll look better when I’m tanned #ad #featurefriday recipe for pancakes are down below ⬇️⬇️⬇️ Makes 3 3-inch pancakes

1 cup organic rolled oats
1 spotty banana
¾-1 cup unsweetened vanilla or plain non-dairy milk

1. Blend all ingredients in a blender until consistency is like that of a thick milkshake
2. Pour into a heated pan
3. Cook until bubbly in the middle
4. Flip and cook for 1-2 min on the other side (at Vancouver, British Columbia)
