don’t be embarrassed that little joys take up a lot of space in your heart. sometimes they’re the most important things there are in your life, and deserve your attention
The thing about little joys? They are actually joy, and it turns out that joy is holographic, not quantizable - every small joy contains within it all joy, or at least a reference to all other joy. There is no quantum of joy, no irreducible, measurable unit of joy.
Small joy is simply joy, so don’t deny yourselves the small joys (that don’t cause any harm to others) any more than you would deny yourselves the grand joys (that don’t cause any harm to others).
There is not, and never has been, any other you in this grand and infinite 14.5 billion year old universe. Stars and galaxies have formed, lived and died so that your every atom can be here today. That is a grand joy that can not be truly comprehended, but it can be held in every moment of every small joy. Denying yourself small joys because you think other people will judge you for them is to miss a chance to celebrate the grand joy of your very existence.
Thus, there are no small joys. Only joys. So, celebrate them all!
