#forever reblog
Written because I love Alex Manes and simultaneously wish him angsty suffering and unending happiness
It was self-induced torture, he decided.
Maybe he felt as though he deserved it, all the pain he and his family had caused over the years. It was only fair he get his share, too.
He sat at a corner table, shifting his beer around, too nauseous to actually drink it, watching the bar. Maria had never looked happier with her bright smiles and weightlessness. She greeted customers one after another with a welcome usually reserved for close friends and family. She joked with everyone, patted people on the back of the hand, danced to the music overhead. Just happy.
She shimmied her way to the other end of the bar where an equally happy Guerin sat watching with a dopey look on his face. She leaned across planting a kiss that obviously held promise and moved a hand through his hair. The smile she got from Guerin was one Alex was sure he’d never seen before.
When Michael reached across the bar to stop Maria from leaving with a pout, giving her another kiss for her troubles, Alex had to leave. He felt the tears brimming and the bile rising and he couldn’t do it. Not tonight.
He’d try again tomorrow.

L: Movie night?
Alex must have stared at that text for an hour. It was in a group chat with himself, Liz, Isobel, Maria, Valenti, Jenna and Michael.
He turned the phone over in his hand, touching the screen to see the message didn’t just magically disappear. Everyone had said they’d be there, the enthusiasm to be together clear even through text.
People were offering to bring drinks and make food, make a whole night of it.
Alex stood and rubbed his eyes. He desperately wanted to be there for Liz. She had been through hell and wasn’t handling it well. Rosa had left Roswell for awhile, both to try readjusting and to give Isobel time to figure out how to warp an entire town. Plus, they were getting no where on the Max front. If Liz wasn’t on her phone to Rosa, she was in the lab or in the cave.
The fact that she wanted to see her friends was monumental. And here Alex was. Afraid to go to a party cause he’d see his ex. Or his former friend with benefits. Or the love of his life.
Pick the fucking applicable title.
The next time he braved looking at his phone he sighed and lifted his eyes to the cabin ceiling.
L: Alex?
Fuck shit motherfucker.
With a groan he responded.
A: I’ll bring beer

Interesting fact:
The BBC series Doctor Who ended in 2010. It was replaced by a show called Doctor Who Cares Now That Steven Moffat’s in Charge. The title of the latter show is often shortened for the sake of brevity. This has caused much confusion amongst viewers with many believing that the two series are one and the same.
like is anyone else just constantly thinking about how capitalists have stolen our world from us lol
