“Mm-hm. Mm-hm. Oh, yeah,” said Whumper. “No, I know what you mean. Thanks, talk to you later.” She tapped her phone to hang it up and dropped it on the counter. “My friend told me what you did. Fortunately for you, it lines up exactly with your story.” Turning and leaning back against the counter, Whumper crossed her arms and cocked her head to take in Whumpee where she knelt on the floor.

Whumpee made a noise in the back of her throat, a whimper or a whine. She rested on spread knees, which helped to balance her against the pull of the restraints fastening her wrists together and to her ankles behind her back.

“The problem is that you never listen. You could have prevented all of this if you’d just paid attention for once.” Whumper stepped forward and crouched down, grasping Whumper’s chin to force her to look into her face. “You can cry, though, because you told the truth. In fact, I’d advise you to cry, because I’d really like to see that.”
