Un tour à la ville : Brest.
Just a little something to go with that star fort photoset I reblogged earlier. This is a satellite picture of central Copenhagen, just to show you that the city’s surviving fortifications are actually a good bit more extensive than Kastellet (visible up at the top) alone. You can also still clearly see the ramparts around Christianshavn in the lower right, and - if you look a bit more closely - the ponds in the row of parks in the upper left are outlining more old bastions. Cool, huh?
