Dog Drawing Comparison:
Rudy - age 13 (2006)
Rex - age 27 (2020)
Fun Fact: for an incredibly long time, I avoided drawing cats and dogs. I always found them so difficult to capture. I was never happy with how they turned out.
I’ve done a lot of practicing and mistake-making to get to where I am now, and I’m still practicing and looking for ways to improve.
That said, it’s nice to look back and appreciate how far I’ve come

This is the first acrylic painting I’ve done in…. many years?
I got inspired by one of those zodiac generator things (your zodiac = adjective, rising sign = verb, moon sign = noun). Mine was “spiritually painting Satan” and I decided to use it as a prompt
I started with an inverted pentacle, started to draw a goat person, and then let it go from there I also only had blue, black, white, and teal paint, so that heavily influenced my colour choice haha.

This is a memorial portrait I did of Rex. ❤️
It’s actually the second version, because the first version (next picture), didn’t make it in the mail.
The first version was also a 5x7”, and this new one is 8x10”. I can see such a difference between the two sizes, and even though I was sad the first one got lost, it was fun to rework the same piece, and I felt more able to measure the improvements.
