Concept: Fukumori Spy x Family AU (by a person who hasn’t actually read or watched spy x family)
- Fukuzawa and Mori don’t know each other beforehand, or if they do, they only vaguely know of each other by reputation.
- Fukuzawa is an undercover (government?) assassin trying to be Just Some Guy for his mission, possibly fighting the Port Mafia. Whatever it is, the higher-ups think having a fake spouse is just the thing he needs for it. His cover is that he does work for the government, but as a pencil-pusher bureaucrat in a department of no real importance.
- Mori is an underground doctor working for the Port Mafia who almost certainly isn’t licensed, but who somehow still manages to pass as an actual doctor as a day job. He’s agreed to a fake marriage with Fukuzawa for currently unknown reasons (tax benefits? his own secret mission? heliedaboutbeingmarriedatwork and fucknowpeoplewanttomeethisspouse? who knows).
- Ranpo is an orphan with unreasonably good deductive abilities who can’t find a job willing to accept him or anywhere to stay. Fukuzawa decides to
adopt himkeep him around for his undercover mission. only temporarily, of course.- Also, Ranpo is aspiring to become the World’s Greatest Detective and has sort of a rivalry thing with his classmate, Poe, but that’s mostly a minor thing I thought of halfway through writing this.
- Fukuzawa and Mori are each under the impression that the other is, in fact, Just Some Guy, as opposed to an assassin/agent and potential murderer/underground doctor respectively.
- Ranpo, on the other hand, has figured everything out and doesn’t say anything about it because he wants to be helpful to his new adoptive dad(s? depending on how attached to Mori he becomes) and likes that he gets to have a family.
