This drawing is no bigger than an index card, but I clocked over five hours on it today. Oops. I regret that the original sketch was so close to the edge of the page; but then I suppose that’s what I get for going all out on what was supposed to be a doodle for a sketch dump.

I wonder. Does anybody else ever have the experience with Pilot G-2 pens that they write excellent for normal tasks like taking notes, journaling, etc. but then when you try to outline pencil sketches they’re borderline useless?

For art, I tend to gravitate towards Gelly Roll. While yes, their line weights can be a bit unpredictable and they take excessively long to dry, their moonlight pens color and dry opaque over any color paper or (dry) medium beneath them. Also their ink flow is effortless and juicy. More than can be said for Pilot G-2 at times, when doing linework.
