Y’all if you want to normalize screwing with gender you need to get real comfortable with the idea of cishet people being gnc without doubting their sexuality

And with trans people changing nothing about how they look.

and cis people with pronouns that dont match their gender + trans people with pronouns that dont match their gender too

if we’re going to tear down this construct we gotta do it thoroughly B)

don’t forget trans people who keep their given name, and cis people who don’t!

ÉVIDEMMENT.

A deux doigts de découvrir l'existence de la misogynie dans la religion catholique la Chloé.

I’ve always hated running, but I recently discovered that it’s really useful for dealing with dysphoria.

I figured that if my body is gonna make me suffer, I might as well make it suffer. The thing about running is that it really doesn’t matter what your body looks like. You just need to get enough air and energy to move forward. And when you’re struggling to take another step or trying to breathe, there’s really no room for feeling dysphoric.

So for a few hours every other day, during and shortly after the run, I actually feel fine.

Ok so today I was on the bus with another trans guy and we were talking about how hard it is to get testosterone. The waiting lists, the price, all the doctors you have to go to, that kind of stuff. Except, we were calling it ’T’, like you do when you’re both closeted and in public.

Then suddenly the elderly lady sitting behind us was like ‘young men, either I’m going crazy or you both have never heard of supermarkets, they have shelves full of tea there! Do you need directions to one?’

To which my buddy starts to explain, because why not. ‘Well you see, we’re both trans, and… ’

The lady didn’t wait for him to finish his sentence. ‘Oh no, I don’t mind that at all! Now do you want to know how to get to a place that sells tea? I’m actually heading there right now!’

We let her take us to the supermarket. We let her show us, excitedly, where the tea was. We both bought loads.

This is beautiful

explain your gender in 10 words or less without using boring words like “male”, “female”, “nonbinary”, “masculine”, “feminine” or “androgynous”.

go!

[Tweet from @/fozmeadows: “human gender and sexuality are very much like animal taxonomy, in that both look structured and simple on the surface, but once you start investigating, it turns out there’s actually no such thing as a fish despite the fact that we all know what a fish is, and that’s okay”]

As a biologist, that is a fantasticcomparison.

We talk about “fish” (which, cladistically, do not exist, there is no monophyletic group of “fish” that simultaneously includes all organisms we understand to be “fish”-like while also excluding, say, humans) because, despite the utter fiction that is fish, it’s still a useful label when we talk about certain features that “fish” tend to have in common.

Gender is absolutely the same way.

i bought myself a quill ring because it’s been almost a year and a half since i started going by my chosen name and i have never felt more at peace with myself. i’m wearing it on my right (dominant) hand, the hand i create all my art with, to remind me that i am constantly creating and shaping myself too.
