Favorite German Words
Das Morgengrauen = literally, the „morning gray“, in its poetic form. That time of day very early in the morning when you are just starting to see the first light but it isn‘t a nice sunrise color yet and just looks sort of grayish. Also funny, because
Das Grau = the color gray.
Das Grauen = the horror.
And for some people, this time of day definitely is an absolute horror to already have to get up in. :D
