LIVE

I know I haven’t been posting a lot lately.

But I will always return to share things that only you will understand.

For instance, I still haven’t chosen my main crush from The Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society nor from the Six Idiots.

damn it Fanny

tried to imagine Pat with a beard and he turned out looking like a complete maniac

The awkwardness of dying and becoming a ghost while dressed as someone else

ghosts is such a funny and sweet show I love it so much ;-;

Something to Share?

[Image description: A drawing of Kitty from BBC Ghosts done mostly in dull shades of pink and purple. She is seated in front of a corkboard covered with papers. She has a concerned look on her face and her hands are folded in her lap. Surrounding her are Alison and the other ghosts who get more blurry the further into the foreground they are situated. The wall behind the corkboard has a weathered texture and there is cursive text above the board which reads, “Something to Share?” End image description.]

I need BBC Ghosts season 4 to have an episode where Mike, Cap, and Thomas form a support group for people who feel responsible for the death of birds. The pain on their faces as they talk about each respective death is the most haunting thing on the show.

I mean look…

Can somebody who knows how to edit please synch that one scene from Something To Share with the “You are my dad” vine?

You all know the scene I’m talking about

schrodingersbastard1154:

Okay, so I’m pretty new here but I have a theory for how the Captain might have died. Strap yourselves in whoever reads this because its going to be long and probably poorly formatted.

In the DVD extra Robin does a kind of walk through I think where he talks a bit about the building and when he gets to the library he says this:

Now we have a basic idea of where most of the male ghosts died. Pat and Thomas were outdoors as we saw, we can assume Humphry was too for his execution, Julian was likely in a bedroom, and the plague pit crew and Robin died before button house was a thing. That only leaves the Captain.

In the library you can see a mirror with a crack in it, which could be from something colliding with it. And if we look at the intro:

(Sorry for the bad quality) we see the Captain in a mirror with a crack across his head.

Going by what happened to Fanny we can assume that being instantly killed by something doesn’t leave marks as she fell out of a window and doesn’t have any cuts or bruises, so if it was the head like the crack suggests it could explain why there are no physical signs of death.

Given that so far all the characters in the intro are put in places significant to their deaths (Thomas is in the room where he challenged that one guy to a duel, Mary is in the fire place, Pat bleeds out from an arrow getting fired, Fanny is in a painting similar to the one her husband had) I’m gonna make a prediction that when we do see his death, he’ll be shot in the library in front of a mirror.

So it turns out Humphry did in fact die indoors and Julian died in a dining room, but it still wasn’t the library, so unless it was another ghost who has since moved on, I’m still clinging to this theory. Plus, series three has added even more fuel:

Spoilers below, obviously

So anyways, while we’re theorising, I’m trying to work out what each ghost’s modern day profession would be based on what we’ve seen already. I’m just gonna compile a list to keep track:

- Mary - Director (1x04)

- Robin - Astronaut (1x05)

- Thomas - Advertising (2x01)

- Fanny - Crime boss (2x05)

- Captain - Wedding planner (2x06)

Julian and Pat are fairly obvious, but feel free to let me know if I’ve missed anything

Cap dream last night.

Alison was pregnant and about to give birth at home. For some reason they decided to have a midwife instead of going to the hospital. Trouble arises when Mike is stuck in the cellar without his phone and can’t be by her side so she enlists the ghosts to help. Julian and Robin go to help communicate with Mike. Pat’s the messenger runner between floors and Fanny has to keep Mary and Kitty calm and away from the action (Kitty’s just overly excited and Mary is finding it difficult). Of course Thomas wants to be right by Alison’s side but decides it’s not gentlemanly to be in the birthing room so he stays with the women. So who does Alison want as her moral support? Yup, the Captain. It’s actually strangely fitting in a way because in a sense he’s become like a father to her. And he’s seems to have a level head when it comes to making plans. And being a forever military man, he takes on the whole scenario like another military operation, but also is gentle and supportive to Alison when she needs it.

Stoneage weapons! We’ve never seen these before! Robin flashback in season 4 here we come!

Lizzie, spreading the throuple love like she just invented it.

Writing another Cap fic. The last half is complete I just have to start writing the beginning.

“But he’s such a ruffian.”

Ben Willbond, panto villain era

None of the ghosts were able to attend their own funerals because they wouldn’t have been held on the grounds. Perhaps Kitty and Fanny could have witnessed their wakes or after funeral gatherings but that’s it. None have seen their own graves(apart from the plague pit). Kitty, Thomas, Fanny, The Captain, Pat & Julian have gravestones out there somewhere.

Wouldn’t it be sweet to have Alison and Mike do some research and travel to their graves to take photographs so they can come back home to show the ghosts where they are buried.

Robin’s body was probably dragged off somewhere by a bear and most of Mary would have been consumed by fire and incinerated so no burials for those two sadly.

Of all of them, Fanny would be the most curious to see what epitaph her family made for her and if it looks regal and dignified enough.

At first I thought The Captain being an army officer during the war meant he would be buried along side them but since he died most likely AFTER the war was over, maybe not. It’s possible he was taken to be buried elsewhere if he had relatives that would claim him. That might have pained him somewhat because I think he felt the most comfortable in the army. We never hear him talk about anything else. No childhood memories or family. Clearly the army was his tribe.

“Nonono, this is very inappropriate, Alison! An officer and a gentleman should not be privy to the colour and thickness of the Queen’s curtains! I can’t look. Ohhieh.”

I think he loves his Cap quotes.

Just by changing to black and white this scene feels like it’s right out of 1940s movie. Even the background music fits.

Just thinking about how Alison has given these ghostly spirits “life” again. For decades, and (for half of them) centuries they haven’t been able to affect or influence anything new. They’ve haven’t been acknowledged or given anything just for them. Kitty’s birthday party, Mary learning to read, music they love to dance to, tv programmes and films that they want to watch, playing computer games. Crossword puzzles for crying out loud. She’s given them tangible things but also the comfort of not feeling trapped in limbo anymore. And with this comes the trust that the modern world isn’t passing them by. They can feel a sense of purpose again.
