Y’all I mentioned I ran a blog about korean skincare during a scholarship interview for the tell me about yourself question (super serious, huge amounts of money at stake, only 2 spots available and me against a panel of 5 experienced professors). One of the law professors was like “what” and I replied “korean skincare like cosmetics and products”. And he said “okay” and didn’t bring it up again.
They gave me the scholarship! It’s like they completely disregarded how much of a mess I was during the zoom interview. Or maybe I was a mess in my mind but to them I seemed like an ambitious and capable student. Who runs a skincare blog. And could only blurt out “poverty” when they asked her what other societal issues she wanted to tackle.
