So today, I have played my few last matches of Gigantic ever.
I’ve never thought that a game could make me sad so much but I think it just because the Gigantic world was so close to my ideal, so inspiring, It was absolutely like “my game”.
I will never forget my time on the airship and hope to meet it again someday.
Today’s Penny Arcade was about the game I’m working on, and then Mike & Jerry streamed some gameplay, so I made a little celebratory comic about two of my favorite Giganticladies~
Now that Gigantic is available to the public, I should be able to share the work I do for it more often!
These are some of the pieces I’ve done for our Fortune Card system, a secondary feature that rewards you for your accomplishments in-game. Some of them are hero specific, while others are based off the tarot major arcana, but all of them expand on the lore of the world in which Gigantictakes place.
They also make pretty great phone wallpapers.
You can find more card illustrations by my counterpart here!
After many trials and tribulations, the game I’ve been working on for two and a half years is finally live in open beta!! Anyone can play for free, but check out our sweet, sweet Founder’s Pack if you want to support the studio (and get exclusive loot).
GIGANTIC HERO PORTRAIT DUMP (haha get it?? GET IT??? no wait come back)
As is often the way with game dev life, most of what I work on ends up being hidden under NDA for months and months before it hits the public and I’m able to share it, which means sometimes I forget I actually have things to share!
One of my main responsibilities at Motiga is creating the “official” portraits of the heroes that get used both in and outside of the game client. While the workload is usually split pretty evenly with my cohort @thatssodagley, occasionally we come together for collaborative efforts (ie: Aisling and Sir Cador) and I don’t think I’m ever going to get tired of how seamlessly our work fits together.
You can check out some of his hero portraits here!
The game I’ve been working on for a little over three years is on the cusp of emerging from it’s beta testing chrysalis and we’re celebrating this awesome milestone with brand new key art!
My illustration cohort @thatssodagley and I collaborated heavily on this piece, working on our respective contributions in parallel to each other over the course of two or three months and stitching it up seamlessly at the end. I’m really proud of the finished product, and really proud of how far the game has come in the meantime.
We’re doing an Arc Preview Weekend in preparation for releasing on a new platform for PC users who don’t have (or prefer not to use the store for) Win10, and will have more news on our impending launch soon!
