Luke 24:1-8 NIV
24 On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. 2They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. 5In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? 6He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 7‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” 8Then they remembered his words.

17 Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”

Not everybody who is impressed with God will convert, they will say wow!!! in certain situations and then keep on living their own lives as if nothing happened.
So someone mentioned that Halloween is 99 days away.
Which got me thinking… (this never ends well)

Today, we pray that you would
Flood our hearts with the light of your life. The same light that flooded the tomb of a man left for dead not so long ago.
Because we were dead, not so long ago.
Some days, it seems like we still are.
We look around us and we see
angry mobs
political power plays:
we barely hear the cries of the innocent drowned out by our own greed and materialism.
Some days we doubt.
Sometimes, here
in the dark,
we look at the circumstances of our lives-
the broken bones and broken vows-
and we doubt.
Lord, help us to believe!
Flood our hearts with the light of your life- the same light that flooded the tomb of a man who once was dead but is now fully alive!
You,
the one who holds kingdoms in your hands yet never fails to listen to the cries of the innocent.
Healer of broken bones,
mender of hearts
and keeper of promises.
Jesus, you have risen!
Arise in our hearts again-
Roll away those stones in our lives that keep us in darkness,
and flood our hearts with You.
Only You.
Amen.
