The Bharti Park in Pondicherry (named after famed poet Subramania Bharati) contains several sculptures, probably collected from old Hindu temples in the vicinity, often depicting images of Hindu Gods and Goddesses - the ones pictured here depict an unnamed deity, Shri Krishna as Venugopala and Shri Vishnu with his vahana, Garuda
In Hinduism, the river Ganga is considered sacred and is personified as a goddess Gaṅgā. It is worshipped by Hindus who believe that bathing in the river causes the remission of sins and facilitates Moksha (liberation from the cycle of life and death) the water of Ganga is considered very pure. Pilgrims immerse the ashes of their kin in the Ganges, which is considered by them to bring the spirits closer to moksha.
This my entry for this month’s Character Design Challenge. I depicted the goddess Kali after beheading the demon Raktabija and collecting all his blood thus avoiding his multiplication (pretty cool story!).

Harsh Malik’s paintings reflect her culture and upbringing. Born and raised in India to a mother who performed Hawan daily and a musical father that would sing daily prayers, Harsh’s paintings are consequently very musical and spiritual in nature.
“Two grooms celebrated their marriage in a traditional Hindu wedding in the US [on July 20 2019] and the amazing photos have gone viral on social media.
Amit Shah and Aditya Madiraju were already officially married at New York city hall earlier this year, but wanted to hold a special ceremony with their family and friends.
Madiraju told PinkNews that when the couple met in 2016 they “hit it off” immediately and have been together ever since.
He added: “Both our families have been supportive from day one.’”
