The Disney Skyliner is back and better than ever they say!

This skyliner reopened for guests to transport from Hollywood Studios to
Caribbean Beach Resort as well as EPCOT + Art of Animation Resort / Pop Century resort. Which means a new way to travel between the parks and resorts.

I honestly loved the Skyliner the views were amazing + without any delays, you do get to your destination in a reasonable amount of time. Will I fly again? Yes!

People have there reservations to get back on the Skyliner, since the incident. A good thing to keep in mind with the new gondola system, less crowds on all the other modes of transportation: less friends on the friendship boats, less cars in the parking lot, less crowds on the buses. I say it’s a win for everyone! @waltdisneyworld

Black Spire Falcon by TheTimeTheSpace I have posted a few shots from this area already, but this is my first that is your standard sort of framing for the scene. It is a no brainer kind of shot but still a lot of fun to edit as it just looks really awesome (minus the blue lighting… but I digress.) Slinkin Upside Down by TheTimeTheSpace The cool thing about this spot is it makes the Slinky Dog coaster look like it goes upside down. I took this just as the sunset was really starting to pop off and I really like the divide between the orange sunset colors on one side and the fading blue sky and clouds on the other… virtually right down the center. I’m Photographing (Sunset Boulevard) In the Rain by TheTimeTheSpace Here’s another shot I took in the downpour at Hollywood Studios. I had to go with a rare (for me) 16x9 crop to eliminate all the extra ground and make the composition a bit better. It was raining so hard I had to keep the camera pointed down with the hood on or the lens would get instantly and completely covered in drops. This of course dictated my composition to some degree, but it was worth it to get some awesome water reflections on the ground. Like the CM who sought cover under the awning everyone else had already run for cover. I meanwhile was just photographing in the rain. https://flic.kr/p/2iNcDuN

Millennium Falcon’s Perch by TheTimeTheSpace Alternate title was Imagine There’s No Blue LED Lights, It’s Not Hard If You Try. It’s a bit wordy but gets the point across, I think. Disney’s light designer is obsessed with bathing all the night scenes in blue light. To me it’s boring and takes away the realism. So, like I’ve done with other scenes, such as Prince Eric’s Castle and Beast’s Castle I’ve gone ahead and color corrected the scene to the best of my ability to make it more realistic. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway Picnic by TheTimeTheSpace Hey, look at me getting to ride and photograph something while it’s still new and fresh. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway is neat with some cool tech but I’m still sad about losing the Great Movie Ride. Maybe this ride would have been better suited for the Animation Courtyard and the Great Movie Ride given an update.

From a photography standpoint it’s not too difficult to shoot though I did notice some artifacts here and there that I think is likely due to the refresh rate of the screens. It would be helpful to know what the refresh rate of the various screens and character face screens are as this would help with selecting a more appropriate shutter speed to help eliminate some of the artifacts I noticed. Ultimately though, not a huge deal as I shoot dark rides at high frame rates anyways so where 1 shot had an artifact the very next one wouldn’t. In the case of this shot the frame directly before and after this did not have as prevalent screen artifacts but they also didn’t have the hidden mickey fireworks so I simply used to shots, aligned and blended together so I could reduce the screen artifacts I noticed AND get the hidden mickey fireworks. Honestly, it’s a bit of extra work for something most people will never notice anyways, especially at web sizes.
