Not all of them make it. This one had a tiny crack in the bowl, probably from an axe blow that went just a tiny bit too far, an all to common error!
It’s particularly frustrating because these cracks usually don’t show themselves until much later, by which time you’ve already spent lots of time finishing the spoon.
Nothing to do but learn from it and move on the next!

Batch production continues. It seems so weird to have to be thinking about Christmas so early in the year (markets were all booked up in July!!), I never used to even mention the word until December 1st at the earliest!
These are my cooking spoons. I always do a few in different designs but this is my most popular and the one I make most of. I also make a mini version that’s perfect for smaller jobs like gravy and porridge.
I’ll have lots more made over the next week that will be painted all the colours of the rainbow!
