Witnessing what’s happening to Meg THEE Stallion has reminded me of how layered victim blaming is, how it’s used by paternalists and patriarchal misogynists to punish Black women and femmes for stepping outside of social expectations, into our autonomy, and exposing them to their insecurities when we possess things that they lack.
It all brings me back to one place…any movement, social space, or person(s) that ask us to be silent and protect those who cause harm under the guise of unity is not in solidarity with us and does not want to see Black femmes empowered.
