So for today’s activity (08/12/18), I thought it would be fun to do a community rewatch of the Philosopher’s Stone (it’s sort of christmassy right? plus it’s my favourite of the movies and I run this blog so)
The ‘official’ rewatch is going to be starting at 8pm GMT(here’s a time zone converter if you need it ) so feel free to watch along and liveblog the experience using #hpchristmas
Obviously there’s never going to be a time that works for everyone so really just feel free to watch the movie and use the tag at any point throughout the day (or honestly any time in the lead up to christmas- I’ll still be checking the tag and would love to see your posts!)
It’s a chilled out event so take it however works best for you, really the fun is just in getting as many people involved as possible!
Hey guys, so if you’ve been here for a while you’ll know that I normally spend my December hosting a bunch of fun activities on this blog but uhhh you might’ve noticed that it hasn’t happened this year (for a variety of reasons, mostly that it turns out being an adult is quite hard…. who knew)
Anyway it felt weird to let a December go by without doing anything to celebrate on this blog, even if I haven’t been particularly active recently, so I thought it might be fun to revive the idea of the harry potter playlists
(if you wanna see the ones we’ve made before head over to ravenclaw-headcanons on spotify)
Basically how it works is I ask you guys to send in submissions of songs that remind you of something to do with Harry Potter, I cobble them all into a playlist and you can all listen to some cool new music
Previously I’ve only made playlists relating to each of the Hogwarts houses but I thought it might be fun, instead of my usual advent calendar, to have a 12 days of Christmas activity where we could make 12 different playlists and I’d release one each day from the 25th December through to the 5th of January
My general thoughts so far are to have one playlist for each of the big seven (i.e. Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Luna, Neville, Draco) but that still leaves 5 spots so I’d love your input!
So it would be great if you could:
a. Let me know if this is a good idea or if you have any alternatives
b. Give ideas on who/what you would like the other 5 playlists to be themed after. I’ll either pick my favourites or the most popular submissions so any input would be great
c. Send me any songs that remind you of any of the characters mentioned above (don’t forget to tell me who it’s for!!) and I’ll start adding them to the playlists!
I hope you guys like this idea, I know I’ve been a pretty shitty admin recently but I still have a lot of love for this blog and the community around it and I’d like to do something to say thanks. Hopefully this will be something fun that we can all get involved in and enjoy throughout the new year
