#hurricane ida
Hey y'all, just wanted to give an update. My house got pretty damaged by Hurricane Ida so I’m not going to post anything for a bit. I have a place to stay and food and water so I’m fine it just hurts.
My Etsy shop is also on pause for the time being because I don’t have the means to create anything. It’ll be back up as soon as it can be.
I hope that everyone else affected by this storm is doing okay, and I hope recovery comes as quickly as it can. Thanks for y'alls support.

My Bitmoji during a hurricane:
I was on the verge of a mental breakdown thinking I’d have to experience my first hurricane on my own, but one of the girls from the studio said I could come to her place since she lives really close. I’m really hoping it’s not as bad as it’s predicted to be but it’s not looking good right now
Update: still haven’t gotten to the worst of it but where I am is out of the direct path of the storm. It’ll still be bad, but not the devastation I was expecting up until today. I just feel bad for the areas in the middle of it and New Orleans doesn’t have power from what I’ve seen.

Nothing like a hurricane to wrap up the first week of school
Ida fun
Hurricane Ida
I’m sorry I’ve been so radio silent lately. If anyone has messaged me or commented and not gotten a response, I’m trying to catch up now. And I do have more writing I want to post soon.
But I also can’t take my eyes off this incoming disaster. I don’t know if anyone who follows this blog is from the southeastern United States. If you are, you understand the magnitude. I was born in Baton Rouge and lived there my entire life until more recently where job hunting took me to the east coast. But I spent so many summers fishing in Elmer’s Island, Port Fourchon, and Grand Isle down there, where the eye will be first coming ashore.
Every single living family member I have besides my husband and daughter (here with me) are now staring down the barrel of this gun. We are only hoping that as soon as the eye meets the land, that Ida will start to weaken.
But there is no question that many structures standing right now will not be here tomorrow. And that lives will be lost. People do evacuate away from the storm surge off the ocean in most places. But the rain will also being flash flooding farther north. And the wind gusts will bring huge trees down, crushing homes. Some don’t have the means or money to leave, others may be afraid of going to public shelters with covid also still ravaging the state. It is going to be a long haul for Louisiana in the next crucial hours and the indefinite recovery period beyond.
I hate asking for help but with the way Hurricane Ida ran my fucking pockets, I’m struggling. If anyone can help out I’d really appreciate it. I know we’re all still in a pandemic so if you can’t send anything then a reblog will also be appreciated!
