Headcanons

• He’s busy following Leona’s orders. It’s a matter of survival for him. Understanding where you’re coming from is a little difficult at first because being his partner also entails excusing his absences. Those are not by choice but as a matter of consequence. You’ll support him, won’t you?
• He explains how that’s how he will be like in the relationship. Don’t think he doesn’t care. If anything, he cares a little too much because he gets the energy to work more when he thinks about you.
• Today, he is running errands for Leona. Tomorrow, when things are set on stone for the two of you, he will need to be more dedicated to provide for his family.
• Maybe it’s stupid to think about the future but that’s something Ruggie is good at. When life gets difficult, his mind likes to ponder on the future that he works so hard for. With a sigh and a shake of the head, he realises that for that future, he needs to put in more effort in the present - both to improve himself and his ties with you.
• Studying is a must for him to pave a way in life so why not do it together? That way, you get to spend time together while also doing something useful. Getting a little cozy during breaks with a few stolen kisses will also rejuvenate and motivate you to study harder. Shishishi~

• It’s not that he doesn’t want to spend time with you. Vil can be very demanding in teaching Epel the proper etiquettes and it’s not only exhausting but also time consuming.
• After his lessons with his dorm leader, he trains by himself to not be left behind when it comes to physical strength. His ideals clash with Vil’s and he has to work twice as hard to maintain his footing in both worlds.
• That doesn’t mean that he values you any less! Being with you might not have been in his plan when he first came to NRC but as time passed and he got to know you better, he found enjoyment in spending time with you. The usual chaos and stress melts into peace and calm when you are around. He can be himself to the fullest.
• He takes his relationship with you very seriously so after giving it some thought, he asks you to join him for his morning jogs. Getting some fresh air together while also building stamina sounds like killing two birds with the same stone. You know, even if you do not wish to be a fighter like him, exercising is important so he sets his mind to bringing you along with him.
• No, there won’t be talking involved because the main focus is getting your muscles pumped up. However, you get to see the cool side of him - one he pours his entire soul in and then, you two can catch your breath together. In his book, that’s really romantic.
• Eating alone must be boring, right? Why not spice things up - not literally because he’s not allowed to consume spices by Vil’s orders - by joining him in the cafeteria? What better place for conversations is there? Though the apple of your eyes is not the most vocal about his feelings - usually shrugging about romantic gestures - he thinks about you during the small joys of life.
• Isn’t it better to help you carry a heavy bag of groceries than sing your praises under the moonlight? Epel will be there to help you where it counts even if he can’t be there with you for long.
