Happy birthday to Onward! A year earlier I discovered this film and fell in love with it. I think about it every day, and seeing the adventures of these dear blue elves again is always a pleasure
Have gotten super into Onward recently and I’m dying for good fanfics (which are few and far in between due to Ao3′s obsession with sibling incest). I found an AMAZING fic by Gummystars the other day and my brain wouldn’t let me rest until I drew fanart of one of the tense moments towards the end of chapter one. It is destroying my soul with feels. Here’s the synopsis and the link if anyone’s interested in checking it out!
There is no Ian Lightfoot. It’s only ever been Barley and his wonderful Mother who he would protect with his life.
So why did some scrawny kid break into their home, claiming to be his magical younger brother? It would take a special kind of crazy to buy into that story, but Barley can’t shake the daunting mantra running through his mind and maybe this Ian might have something to do with it.

tomholland2013 It’s good in life to set goals and have milestones.  A big one for me was being in a Pixar movie and I can’t quite believe that this came true. Thank you @disney for yet again making me the luckiest kid going. Onward is a film about family and brotherhood  and that’s exactly how you should watch it. Grab the fam and take them to see onward… you’ll love it. And finally, Mr @prattprattpratt is soooo funny in this film - I’m so glad we got to work together again buddy

I love how the people Ian tried to befriend in the beginning were totally nice and didn’t just become his friend because of his magic at the end. Idk I feel like this movie broke a lot of stereotypes that haven’t really been talked about.
