I N C U B U S
I did this for me
Because I love him so much
He is my seducer
Ahhhh, so the Castlevania wiki also categorizes succubi as “Lady Bats” making them akin to vampires. AND I MUST SAY I’VE BEEN THINKING ABOUT HOW SUCCUBI/INCUBI AND VAMPIRES COULD RELATE.
So succubi/incubi (or more generally concubi) are often just thought of as sex daemons. Buuuuut they don’t simply have sex with people. They feed off life-energy through sex. Vampires also feed off life energyyyyy.
Also, the concubi in Castlevania have fangs much like vampires do, I imagine with a similar purpose to vampire fangs.
I’m just gonna word-vomit a bunch of my headcanons on Vampire/Concubi biology.
So, both creatures have venom to lower their prey’s defences. Concubi venom specifically serves as a powerful aphrodisiac. They inject it to prime their victims. Vampires are much the same, but their venom has less aphrodisiac properties and serves to thin their victims blood to make feeding easier. Then, simply licking up the blood is enough to close the wound.
Castlevania depicts succubi disguising themselves as loved ones to lure in victims. Alucard displays a similar ability to change his appearance as seen with his alter-ego Arikado.
Concubi and vampires both are capable of having offspring with humans. As succubi, concubi steal sperm from men, turning into incubi to impregnate women with “cambions”. In mythology, these half-daemon offspring are often said to be twisted and deformed. Dhampirs are viewed the same way. Of course, in Castlevania, this translates into them being sexy (Alucard <333 and Isaac Laforeze).
In general, offspring between concubi/vampires and humans tend to be an incubus or male vampire with a human woman. I feel this is from a bitter lack of creativity. For succubi and vampire women, perhaps they’re seen as ill-fit to have children/be maternal. It may be harder for them to carry a pregnancy. Either way, GIVE ME MORE SUCCUBI AND VAMPIRE MILFS!
