History’s Original “Dumb Blonde”

First off, I feel the need to emphasize how much this lifelong brunette detests the phrase “dumb blonde.” It’s a baseless stereotype generally leveled against women that often crescendos in sexist punchlines and idiotic assumptions about the correlation between the level of eumelanin in one’s hair follicles and intelligence. And even though it might sound like I’m taking those terribly unfunny dumb blonde jokes far too seriously, scores of studies on the sociologyandpsychology of hair colors confirm that men and women alike tend to judge towheaded ladies as more incompetent and needier than their darker-haired galpals.

In wondering when and why such a random stereotype arose, I had figured it had plenty to do with Marilyn Monroe’s 1953 performance in “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” in which she plays the preferable blonde (which is kind of funny when you consider that Norma Jean Mortenson was a brunette when she first headed out in Hollywood). It turns out, however, that the original dumb blonde — the ODB, if you will — came around a couple centuries prior.

Why Tactile Intelligence Is the Future of Robotic Grasping

This is a guest post. The views expressed here are solely those of the author and do not represent positions of IEEE Spectrum or the IEEE.

The simple task of picking something up is not as easy as it seems. Not for a robot, at least. Roboticists aim to develop a robot that can pick up anything—but today most robots perform “blind grasping,” where they’re dedicated to picking up an object from the same location every time. If anything changes, such as the shape, texture, or location of the object, the robot won’t know how to respond, and the grasp attempt will most likely fail.

Robots are still a long way off from being able to grasp any object perfectly on their first attempt. Why do grasping tasks pose such a difficult problem? Well, when people try to grasp something they use a combination of senses, the primary ones being visual and tactile. But so far, most attempts at solving the grasping problem have focused on using vision alone.

Did you ever think about that intelligence is a real turn on for some people ?

Why do I ask this question ? To make some of you think about which role manners and education has in our daily life (on tumblr as well as in real life).

I want to tell you something out of my life:

Before I started blogging I had 5 to 10 idols on tumblr. I contacted all of them with nice messages to express my admiration for them and their work. Some of them answered and some didn’t.

On almost everybody I saw quite quickly that their intellect was not as high as I expected and I got bored quite fast. Therefore I stopped the conversations from my side. Unfortunately I also noted quite quickly that they didn’t make me horny any longer. Maybe not everybody shares my opinion but intelligence is very important to me to find someone attractive or interesting. I am sure some of you feel the same way! I am also sure that some of you prefer brainless cunts which represent just a hole for you dick. I can also understand this since most of the sissies want to be treated like this.

However, if you call me a bitch or something similar you will be added to my ignore list quite quickly ;)

But to come back to my idols: For their excuse, I know very well how it feels to get a huge amount of messages every day. Sometimes there are way too much messages in my inbox to give an acceptable answer to each question. So if you ever wrote me a message and I did not reply to you (or you feel missunderstood) please make a second try !!!

Meanwhile I set up new rules to myself for messaging. Therefore I have much more time for you who need help in any kind or are really interested in my blog.

The new rules are:

1. I don’t answer to people who don’t follow me (I don’t even read their message). I spend my time exclusively to users which are interested in my blog!

2. I don’t answer to people with bad grammar. No need to be perfect but at least I should understand what you mean or what’s your specific question.

3. Not a rule but an appeal: To learn more about sissygasm and handsfree orgasms please go through my blog first and read all answers and guides. If you don’t find an answer there you can gladly contact me.

Furthermore I appreciate if people introduce themself on a first contact. You may know something about me but I don’t know anything about you. So please tell me something about you and your life.

Every point above belongs somehow to intelligence, education and manner but I want to point this out particularly.

See you and stay horny :)

What We’re Reading | #WNO Influencer Reading List

Rebecca Solnit’s “Men Explain Things to Me”

In her hilarious, yet highly critical book, Solnit reflects on situations where men incorrectly assume they are superior in knowledge to women. The book has many relatable laugh-out-loud moments, but also touches on an incredibly serious issue that contemporary society must address: the deliberate (and accidental) silencing of women. We love Solnit for her awareness and social commentary, but we also love that she delivers it with humor, and in less than 160 pages!

Have you read this book? What are some of your favorite empowering reads?
