#iron bull x inquisitor

Headcanon that Bull is really good at dancing and Jarvek can’t figure out how a qunari of his size can be this “graceful”; matter of fact that great warriors are great dancers too

Thinking about an asexual Inquisitor and Iron Bull’s romance

“So, listen.  I’ve caught the hints.  I get what you’re saying.  You want to ride the Bull.”

Oh shit.  Constance never expected Bull to actually take her up on all of the flirting.  And now there he was, standing up from her bed and stepping closer toward her.

“Can’t say I blame you,” he continued.  “But I’m not sure you know what you’re asking.  Not sure if you’re ready for it.”

She clenched her jaw for a moment, and then cried, “I don’t want to have sex with you, Bull.”

He stopped in place and cocked his head to the side.  “Could’ve fooled me.”

She spoke with her hands when she got nervous, and her fingers were flying every which way as she explained, “I don’t like sex.  Not really.  But I like flirting and making dirty jokes, and I never actually expected anything beyond just words, but now you’re here and… I’m sorry.  I didn’t mean to disappoint you.”

“Disappoint me?”  A faint laugh accompanied his words, as if he was appalled at the thought.  “Here I thought we could have some fun and I could help you unwind from all the stress of the Inquisition with a good fuck.  But I have other methods too.”

With that, Bull turned and made for the stairs, disappearing a moment later behind a shut door.  Constance called after him and almost made to follow him, to continue her apology, but instead stayed put and leaned back against the stained glass that adorned her chambers.  The last thing she wanted to do was hurt him.  She did like him, just not in that way.  She didn’t like anyonein that way.

Eventually, Constance slumped onto the bed, still thinking things over.  She didn’t have long to ponder, however, because soon the door reopened and Bull’s telltale footsteps ascended the stairs.

“Bull!”  Constance exclaimed.  “I’m sorry, please… Wait, what do you have there?”

Bull sat down on the far side of the bed, carefully balancing a tray with two steaming mugs on it.

“Hot chocolate.  We don’t have it in Par Vollen, which is a shame, honestly.  I thought you might like some.”

She accepted the mug he offered and breathed in the warm, chocolatey steam.

“I don’t understand,” she admitted.  “I thought you would be upset with me.”

“No, no, no, not at all.  I mean, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t a little disappointed – if you ever change your mind about riding the Bull, let me know – but if you don’t like sex, you don’t like sex.  Nothing wrong with that.  There are plenty of other things we can do.”

As she replayed his words over in her head, Constance beamed and smiled.

“Thank you.  This means… a lot to me.”

Bull smiled back.  “You shouldn’t ever have to feel ashamed of who you are, or afraid that someone might not accept you for it.  I will always respect your boundaries, no matter what they are.”

Constance hesitated for a moment, then quickly leaned over and pressed a quick kiss to Bull’s cheek, then retreated to her side of the bed. She could feel her cheeks flush red through the combined warmth of the hot cocoa and the weight of what she’d just done.

“Sorry.”

Bull chuckled.  “So kisses are okay, then?”

“Um, yeah, I guess so.”

With that permission given, it was Bull’s turn to lean over and kiss her cheek, though he moved much more slowly and lingered against her skin.

“Alright?”  He asked as he withdrew.

Constance felt like a giddy idiot, and hid her grin behind her hand. “Yeah.  Definitely.”

Bull reached over and gently grabbed her wrist to pull her hand away from her mouth.

“Don’t hide your smile,” he said.  “You don’t have to be embarrassed.”

“Easier said than done,” Constance laughed.  After a moment, she added, “Thank you, Bull.  For all of this.  And for understanding.”

“Of course.  Now, drink your hot chocolate before it gets cold.”

They both took a sip of the piping hot beverage and let the warmth flow through them, warding off the chill of the Frostbacks.  Sitting in companionable silence, Constance scooted over a little bit on the bed, and Bull took the hint to put an arm around her so that she could lean into his side.  In those moments, they needed nothing else but to be together.
