you’ll still be looking out for me when my mind is a mess and my heart’s not there, but i’ll be coming back to you ‘cause you smell like home and your love’s still there

one thing about the batman I truly loved is that when he was around other people like the cops and whatever it WAS abundantly clear how absolutely weird it was that he’s walking around dressed like that. like I feel like a lot of modern day superhero movies manage to tonally just make the heroes look cool, but while the suit definitely looked cool it was also just like. clear he was a fucking weirdo for it lmfao

You ever just read a book that’s like so good that you feel physically empty but then you realize there’s a sequel but then you realize that it doesn’t come out till October. It’s June and you might just be physically incapable of waiting that long. Because like me too.

Whumptober Prompt 21 – Chronic Pain | Hypothermia | Infection

––––––––––––––––––

“Tell me, what makes you think that you deserve anythingat all? What was it that gave you that delusion?” Varren was leaned back in his chair, seemingly completely at ease, but I knew better.

“I…I wasn’t…” I faltered, unsure of how to respond.

“You don’t,” Varren cut in. “You don’t deserve anything more than what I’ve givenyou, and with how you behave I’d say you deserve even less.”

I looked away, torn between feeling angry and resigned. All I had done was ask for a blanket. I should have expected this sort of reaction.

“You’re more troublesome than you are useful,” Varren continued, “and yet you expect me to give you something that you don’t even need?”

I flinched. I could sense the beginning of a long complaint, mostly about how useless I was, that would probably end in some sort of punishment. I wished he would just skip to the end, then at least I could avoid the emotional pain.

“Can you even give me one reason, just one, that I should give you anything more than what I already provide? What have you done to deserve that?”

I hesitated, unsure if he wanted an actual response. “I…I’ve…been good.” The last part came out as barely more than a whisper.

Varren raised an eyebrow. “What was that? I could have sworn I just hear you say that you’ve been good, but we both know that’snot true.”

Hi, I’m Taylor. Last time I was in a stadium this size, I was dancing in heels and wearing a glittery leotard. This outfit is much more comfortable. I would like to say a huge thank you to NYU’s chairman of the board of trustees, Bill Berkley, and the trustee and members of the board, NYU’s president Andrew Hamilton, provost Katherine Fleming, and the faculty and alumni here today who have made this day possible. I feel so proud to share this day with my fellow honorees, Susan Hockfield and Felix V. Matos Rodriguez, who humble me with the ways they improve our world with their work.

As for me, I’m 90% sure the main reason I’m here is because I have a song called 22. And let me just say, I am elated to be here with you today as we celebrate and graduate New York University’s Class of 2022. Not a single one of us here today has done it alone. We are each a patchwork quilt of those who have loved us, those have believed in our futures, those who showed us empathy and kindness or told us the truth, even when it wasn’t easy to hear. Those who told us we could do it when there was absolutely no proof of that. Someone read stories to you, and taught you to dream, and offered up some moral code of right and wrong for you to try and live by. Someone tried their best to explain every concept in this insanely complex world to the child that was you as you asked a bazillion questions, like, “How does the moon work?” And “Why can we eat salad, but not grass?” And maybe they didn’t do it perfectly—no one ever can—or maybe they aren’t with us anymore, In that case, I hope you’ll remember them today If they are in this stadium I hope you’ll find your own way to express your gratitude for all the steps, and missteps, that have led us to this common destination.

I know that words are supposed to be my thing. But I will never be able to find the words to thank my mom, dad, and brother Austin for the sacrifices they made every day so I could go from singing in coffeehouses to standing up here with you today, because no words would ever be enough. To all the incredible parents, family members, mentors, teachers, allies, friends, and loved ones here today who have supported these students in their pursuit of educational enrichment, let me say to you now, welcome to New York, it’s been waiting for you.

little update: I went on the date with this amazing girl. we kissed. she held my hand. it was truly perfect

god what i loved about that lore stream the most was how smallc!wilbur sounded after c!eret yelled at him in the museum. like it audibly rattled him to be told all that, it was brilliant.

Yesterday I watched Alice in Wonderland in the Royal Opera House via their livestream. Technicaly I watched it at my hometown at the cinema, but it felt like I was there. It was amazing, the music, the choreography, the dancers. I am still so high from it, and I posted about it on my instagram and this morning when I woke up I saw that Gary Avis liked it and I still haven recovered

heehoo just finished reading the foundation series. now I’m off to read foundation’s edge :D

I finally watched Bonnie & Clyde yesterday and dang. The obcr hits hard but the show hits harder. For one, there’s so much you miss just listening to the cast album. I didn’t know I was going to love Blanche and Buck so much. And it just humanized the whole gang and showed how they were criminals but also making them sympathetic. It was so good. And of course I knew it would be good because how can it not be with Laura Osnes and Jeremy Jordan but dang it was so good. Lots of tears were shed. Still a little in shock at how much I’m moved by these criminals, but in the best way. It’s definitely a show I’m going to need to watch again to fully develop all my thoughts and feelings on the way they told such a compelling story through the music and everything else, and watching again is definitely something I’m looking forward to!

i can’t get over how casual and easy it was in issue 3 to introduce kara as trans like. it was so refreshing to have her just say “it’s kara” and the rest of the gang is just like “okay” and that’s it no big conversation no big thing about it it was so NICE to see

Khonshu: *beginning his please-be-my-avatar speech*

Layla: I’m gonna stop you right there.
