I love when a character allows themself to be hurt when it’s preventable, not because of anything but that they’d rather them than anyone else.
I love when they take the load of multiple people on their back because it’s better one be hurt than loads. Even if that one ends up shattered.
I love the look of horror on friends’ faces when they realize what had been done. What had been done for them.And all the character can do is smile sadly.
I love when a character knows what they’re getting into. They know how much they’ll hurt. They know they’ll be begging and crying and pleading for it to stop. They know there’ll be parts of them that regret the decision. That wish they had left the others in the dust to suffer instead. They know they’ll likely never be the same again.
You ever feel trapped? Like you’re just treading water? Waiting to drown? Blackbeard always wins. That’s the thing. He can’t fail. It’s not even a challenge anymore. People just see the flag and they freak out. “Blackbeard!” And they basically just give up. They surrender. What’s the point? I don’t even need to be on the boat. I’m a ghost. There’s no chaos. There’s no drama. There’s no f*ckin’ life.

I cannot begin to state how much I respect these players. As a player, you want to get it right. You want to do it right, to win, maybe not save the day, but win. And so to know what’s happening, and that it’s going to be bad, and purposefully making the wrong decisions? Absolutely insanely good. The sheer talent. I am blown away.
Literally took me an eternity to finish my portion (she was finished in like a weekend rofl) but here’s the completed scene!! I’m really happy with how it all turned out and despite me repainting mine so many times, I feel like I got back into the groove of digital painting and it was pretty therapeutic ☺️
