“Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy’s first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world’s one and only truth.”
“You want to bring back someone that you’ve lost. You might want money. Maybe you want women. Or, you might want to protect the world. These are all common things people want. Things that their hearts desire. Greed may not be good, but it’s not so bad, either. You humans think greed is just for money and power! But everyone wants something they don’t have.”
Fullmetal Alchemist doodle dump as I figure out how I like drawing some of the characters :]
(A digital drawing on a wide canvas containing several different characters from Fullmetal Alchemist. From top to bottom, left to right: A bust of the homonculus Envy. Envy is pale and androgynous and has spiky dark green hair held back with a headband with an alchemical symbol on it in reddish purple. Their eyes are bright purple and tey are grinning cruelly and looking off to the left. Next to them is a sketch of Edward Elric. His blonde braid is flying behind him and his bangs are scattering in a dynamic way as he claps his hands to perform a transmutation. Blue light comes from between his hands and lights the underside of his face and arms. He is wearing one white glove and a black tank top and his automail arm is uncovered. He looks a little beat up but has a determined and cocky expression. Below these drawings on the left is a paired set of portraits of Ling Yao and Ling after being taken over by Greed. On the left is Ling, He has a warm skin tone and a gentle expression with a wide smile. He is looking to the left. On the right is Greed, whose skin tone is less saturated than Ling’s, with a bit of purple in the undertones. His hair is more purple than Ling’s and is spikier at the ends. He is grinning wildly. Finally, in the bottom right corner is a drawing of Izumi Curtis. She has dark brown skin and black locs pulled back in a ponytail and her edges are laid cleanly. She has a dark blue tattoo of an alchemical symbol on her left collarbone and is wearing a white dress with a split collar.)
Something old from 2019 that I’ll never finish so I’m letting it loose into the wild for other fans to enjoy , just a pic of them FMA power girls having a night out . Izumi telling a fun story about a micro eggplant? who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Sketching is still my go to when I feel frustrated and sketching fluff relaxes me tremendously. So here we have some of my FMA based characters with their surrogate families. Grandma Isumi really loves her little grandchildren
LanFan, Izumi and Roy are siblings. Their mother was from Xing. At 16, she was in a bad relationship which landed her pregnant. Too afraid to be a parent, as soon as Izumi was born, she left her in the hands of one of her friends and headed for Central. Then she met Roy’s father and Chris. 5 years after Roy’s birth, there was a car accident and his dad died. Grief stricken, she returned to Xing and was taken in by Fu. She ended up in a arranged marriage and died giving birth to LanFan.
Izumi never joined the military, but after her involvement in the Promised Day she was given an alchemist title nonetheless which alluded to her teaching skills and having seen the portal of Truth: the Enlightened Alchemist.
