a jack russell sprinting out of the water

We got 110mm of rain last night which means my entire front paddocks are just a series of rivers, we’re flooded out from every town in the district, and the dogs are having a greattime

My precious dog of 10 years, Fudge, died 2 days ago at roughly the age of 13. She received a diagnosis of terminal cancer and was given weeks to live. She outlived that diagnosis by 3 months and was happy and active right up until the end. I think that these photos taken by my friend are beautiful but they can never do justice to just how beautiful Fudge was. She fell into our laps by luck and chance; a stray rescued by a family friend from being shot by a farmer. She wasn’t the dog my family had in mind, but I could never have asked for a better one and I have often been struck by the luckiness of having her as a part of my family.

I loved Fudge so deeply that I can’t accurately express it.
