Are you a screenplay writer? Love horror? Then I need you!
I have always wanted to turn one of my books into a film, and so have decided to actively start down this path with Slasher. Everyone who has read it said it would be a great film, and of course I’m inclined to agree.
However, despite having watched a zillion films, I don’t know how to adapt a book into a screenplay worthy of pitching, so I need someone to come on board and work with me to do just that.
So are you a horror movie lover? Know plenty about screenplays and how films work? If so I’d love to here from you, to see how Slasher can be adapted into movie magic!

On Thursday November 13th I held the official launch party of my newest novel Slasher, in fact my first ever actual launch.
It was an incredible night, full of good wine, good music, good company and fantastic support by friends, family and fans alike. I even did a reading!

So Girl Meets Bear, I’m a little perplexed by some things and figured I’d throw my thoughts and queries out to the tumblr fam.
Joshaya
The Long Game is still on, Maya and Josh are clearly in love with each other. Do yourself a favor and look up all the gifs of them staring at each other when the other isn’t looking. Magical.
Having watched the episode twice now, it’s clear Zay is looking out for Maya so she’s not a third wheel to Rucas. Maya is focused on Josh, but Zay doesn’t want her to feel left out while she waits on both Josh and Riley. Zay is the ultimate BROTP (I like that saying).
I also thought it was interesting how Josh steals the room every time he shows up. Everyone in the apartment basically turned the spotlight over to him while he vented, he commanded the room. Being the oldest, and usually surrounded by younger people, I thought that was an interesting dynamic and it stood out. He was flustered by college but was able to get encouragement from the family around him. I liked that.
Farkle
I’m very perplexed here. Is he the metaphorical bear that Riley lost? I thought he was happy with Smackle, but he seems distressed now that Riley and Lucas are paired up. He looked miserable the entire episode, even after talking with Queen Topanga (great callback to her first episode). Is Farkle pining for Riley? If so, why not make a play? Lucas and Riley have had the past few episodes to take off, and I’d argue that Joshaya had more chemistry and development in this episode, than the last few episodes combined of Rucas. That’s not a slight at Riley and Lucas mind you, they just don’t seem like a couple.
I find myself comparing this episode to the first Community bottle episode, where the study group dives into a bunch of key issues facing the group, and works through them. I feel like this episode brought up a number of issues, and I’m curious how they will pay off.
Thoughts?
