Happy Birthday, Toshi!

The honorary members of the Hijikata fan club (Kane’s idea) are about to throw him a surprise birthday party (also Kane’s idea).

Living the 2205 life in the Bakumatsu period.

I’m still having a lot of fun with this cross-over.

Commemorative scribble (that got a little out of hand) for finishing the Ikedaya chapters in TouRabu. I’ve sent Kane on his kiwame journey and I’m looking forward to his returnletters.

I’m well aware I’m touching a very niche fandom space with this crossover, but I find it really interesting and enjoyable (I ramble more about it on my main account).

Saitou found an unlikely ally in his endless discourse with Okita.

Kane, on the other hand, found himself a new enemy.

Text transcript as it’s really small on desktop:

Okita: Hajime-kun, take it back. The Kotetsu is superior!

Saitou: Souji. It’s an impressive blade, but no match for the vice commander’s Kanesada.

Heisuke: Again?

Kane: Well, obviously, the Kanesada is superior! (I mean, look at me. I’m strong and stylish. Stylishly strong. All Nagasone does is show off his abs.)

Okita: (Do you want to die? Cause I can take care of that.)

Team Hijikata at dawn

The pictures of Kane’s (I assume) revue outfit in the latest Tkrb musical have been popping up on twitter and it reminded me a lot of Toshi’s western outfit.

I know Kane joins his former master for Kiwame training, so I ran with the idea (taking a few artistic liberties in the design here and there). This cross-over is set on Toshi’s good ending route… so I’ve been thinking about how to make it work. Chizuru will be arriving in Ezo in a few weeks, she gets along with Kane. ♪(´▽｀)

Next time I’ll try drawing Toshi in a different lighting.
