next up in the American Girl series: Kaya'aton'my!

I had the massive “Kaya’s World” book back in the day and was obsessed with it as a kid

Hopefully by the next holiday season I’ll have Kaya’s winter accessories and Josefina’s Christmas outfit, and maybe even Felicity/Elizabeth outfits for Caty and Abigail.

I’m just glad that the painters finished before the end of Hanukkah, so I could access everything and have somewhere to put them all.

Kaya arrived! (Sorry for the grainy pictures). The original estimated delivery date was October 6th but on October 7th it was blank and the package was in a Washington FedEx facility. No change for over a week so I got suspicious. Sure enough, FedEx said the package was considered lost. I called AG and they started a claim, and the package came the next day. The stand I purchased for her is on backorder until mid-November.

As usual, I would have rather left the book out, since I already own the original set.

Very pleased with the doll. Her dress feels as textured as it looks. (The dark spot is not a stain but is supposed to represent a deer’s tail). The only accessory that seems superfluous is the map, but it’s still neat. Just no idea where I’ll put it. Kaya herself is going on my “18th century” shelf in-between my two Dear America dolls.

Me:“The historical dolls are on sale. As usual it’s not a great discount, but maybe this would be a good time to get Kaya.”

Me: “Nah, now really isn’t a good time to buy something online with the house being remodeled.”

Me, the next day:

Next step: Telling Mom I’ve bought yet another doll.
