Memory loss has been a topic close to home in my family, since my grandfather struggled with dementia, and my mom and I wanted to offer a book that gave hope and comfort to children in this situation. Like many people when they saw the brutal murder of George Floyd at the hands of police, I was shocked, appalled, and unsurprised. I was disgusted at how unsurprised I was. This has happened far too often to be truly shocking anymore.
