Correspondence.

If I learnt something reading certain kinds of classics, is how important the moment of receiving (or sending) a letter was. Not so different to nowadays, just way more immediate.

Still, receiving a letter is way fancier than getting an email (miss my teens, when I had pen pals. Nowadays I only keep on contact with one of them ).

Love is in the air.

I guess they took it quite literally, didn’t they? ️

Also, this time I decided to let you get a glimpse at how I plan the use of colours for my illustrations before working on them. Usually, I work on smalls thumbnails (simplified version of the final illustration). I’m aware they are dirty and undefined, but they help me to get a general idea of how the the final illustration could look like finished.

I prepared this small illustration to send as postcard for a small group of people to wish them the best during these holidays and for the new year. Now that everyone has received it, I can finally show it here here!

Let’s hope 2022 to be better in general for everyone than 2021. My best whishes for you! Keep trying your best and take breaks, as many as necessary for your mental health, if you can afford them . Take care of you and your loved ones.

This little fairy mouse needs to work even during holidays as a deliveryman. Surely Santa got a couple of missing presents, a wrong size, or a sightly damaged package during his journey.

He also works part-time in Spain for the Three Wise Men, after January 6th. They also make mistakes!

Would you leave something at hand in case you need to exchange a present? He also appreciates biscuits and milk!

Watercolour of a small koi I made as part of my presents for Dimelza Díaz during the #creativesantaswap created by Maria Rod.

Had fun with it! This time I used again my White Nights watercolours (mixing no more than 7 - 8 colours from both their normal and pastels colours). Just for the final details I used Prismacolor pencil colours and Holbein white gouache.

Someone is too excited to give a present to someone special, why wait for Xmas ?!

Little Norna fancies human clothes more than her family would appreciate.

Discreetly, she picks up her three aunts’ threads, those which are found discarded around their muddy studio, to design her own clothes with them. Luckily, her aunts gardening take them a while.

What a better chance does she have to dress them than during Halloween, when she can wear proudly her creations without being reprimanded. Also, those thick threads shine with such live during this night…

Vampridina is neither a vampire nor a fairy godmother. Maybe she was one of those long ago? Is she both?

Color test for when I decide to finish the space related sketches I posted a while ago . What do you think about this colour palette?
