“I am a 20 year Navy Veteran currently working to open my own distillery in Southeastern Virginia. After several years of research and self-reflection, I realized two things. The first thing is that I needed to find a job that excited me as much as my first day in the Navy and secondly, that there is a void in the market for pre-Prohibition style spirits made using traditional techniques and locally sourced grains.
I started working on my dream in 2012 and Three Brothers’ Distillery, Inc. broke ground on our building in June 2015. We are working to be in production in late October, Early November 2015. We are starting production making Rye Whiskey, Compound Gin, and an un-aged Corn Whiskey. We will be hosting our official grand opening on April 23rd, 2016 at the Sussex County Song, Sausage, and Spirit Festival in conjunction with the Cheerful Chicken Farm.
The next steps for our distillery are completing construction, and acquiring access to a grain mill to slow grind our grains. We currently have several contracts for locally produced rye and corn and are on track with the plan for opening.”
“A loan of $10,000 helps me to bring Hemp Foods America to market and begin the process of establishing a local brand for U.S.-grown hemp grain.”
