its the happiest of days today because it is shine your icy crown’s release day!!!! i am such a huge fan of @ladybookmad . not only as a writer, but also as a person!!! i was lucky enough to get an early look at her newest collection and it is just as stunning as you would imagine.

Can you BELIEVE Christmas is in just a few days?? I am very excited this year because i finished all of my christmas shopping really early so ive been able to relax most of December!!

Ive always been an iced coffee girl but lately ive been enjoying hot lattes! i spent some time reading and enjoying Coffee Days Whiskey Nights at @capybaracoffee this week and i think its my new regular spot! If you havent read @cyrusparker ’s newest book, you definitely should. i think its my new favorite of theirs!!!

Not sure if anyone noticed but ive been doing quite a bit of social distancing this year - and not just the coronavirus kind. I decided that I wanted to focus on being more present in my day to day life in 2020 because i was feeling very burnt out on this whole social media thing. Most of you know that I started creating content for the bookish world several years ago and since then ive held myself to impossible standards. Creating new content every single day for YEARS and it finally caught up with me. I started to hate what I was putting out into the world and let it take me to a really bad place mentally so for the sake of me and my creativity i decided to stop letting social media take priority in my life. This little tolerance break did wonders for me and although im not ready to dive back in 100% of the way, i am ready to dip my toes! So expect periodic content from here on out!!!! we are back with week 2 of #rutareadthroughhistory and this week we are talking about Out of the Easy which is set in the 1950s in new orleans (hello gumbo!!!) and the Fountains of Silence which is set in Spain (PAELLA!!!)

who inspired your love of reading?

For me, it would be my grandmother. She was a voracious reader and always made sure i had as many books as i wanted. She passed away 2 days after my birthday and its been really rough. When i was approached by #KnoxvilleVoyager to do an interview a out my love for reading, I knew it would be the perfect way to honor her. rainy days in the city

What was your favorite childhood movie? For me, it was Grease. My sister and I would watch the movie so often that the VHS (old school, i know) eventually wore out!
