→ breathing in deep, nayeon glances into the camera lens, reminds herself this video is no different than any vlog she’s ever done, and there’s a plethora of those. sure, this is an audition tape, sure, this is a big deal. but its not that bad. she hits the button to record. “hello - ” she lilts out, bobbing down into a bow that sends bright pink hair falling into her face. she pushes it back as she rights herself again, beaming. “my name is im nayeon, but you might know me from youtube as nabi!” with a tilt of her head to the side, she offers a grin. “after years of bombarding the public with covers and dance videos, i’ve decided i want to set out on the path towards serious musical success, so lets go!” did that sound as cheesy out loud as she thought? she makes a face - she isn’t described as the queen of expressions for nothing - and holds up a peace sign. “wish me luck.”

→ the truth is a little blunt, but nayeon’s never minded that. “i want to be famous.” she states it deadpan, like a fact. the sky is blue, the grass is green, im nayeon wants to be a star. “really! i want to stand on stage and be loved by fans and put music and joy out into the world.” she gets a little more meaningful here, a little more typical, but the truth is the truth and its all she has to offer. “i love to show my skills and my development on youtube with my fans right now, and i want so badly to continue to do that, in bigger and better ways. i want to do more than covers in my apartment - i want to be able to perform on stage. and someday, maybe, i want to be able to compose and choreograph my own music too. i want to create things and share them with people who care about me, and maybe inspire people, too.” its a little grandiose and certainly far reaching, but aiming high never hurt anyone, right? she offers a grin, wide and bright, to punctuate the monologue, before she leans in, pink hair obscuring the lens before it flickers to black.
